PAYING FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES
An independent Report published last month recommended that Council Tax be replaced with a new annual Local Property Tax of 1% of the value of your home. It rejected the idea of a Local Income Tax which it said would add 6.5p in the £ to the basic and higher rates of income tax.
What system do you favour?

THE EDINBURGH AIRPORT RAIL LINK
A Bill to authorise the construction of a rail link to Edinburgh Airport which will connect the airport to the national rail network is presently going through the Scottish Parliament. It will cost £550-£650 million.
What do you think of this proposal?

CLIMATE CHANGE AND TAXES
It has been suggested that in order to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions we need to increase taxes on air travel and car use.
